Avian & Sulcata Adoptions

At Shallow Ridge Exotics, we believe every animal deserves the opportunity to find a safe, loving, and appropriate home. Our adoption process is designed to help make thoughtful matches based on each animal’s individual personality, history, health, and long-term needs.

Our avian adoption program includes birds that are ready to transition into carefully selected homes. Each bird is evaluated individually, and we take time to learn about their personality, behavior, care needs, and the type of environment where they are most likely to thrive. Some birds may remain with Shallow Ridge Exotics as sanctuary residents when long-term care is the best choice for them.

Our Sulcata tortoise adoption program focuses primarily on younger Sulcatas that may be suitable for placement in knowledgeable, prepared homes. Because Sulcatas can live for many decades and grow very large, adopters must be able to provide appropriate outdoor space, secure housing, proper nutrition, cold-weather protection, and lifelong care. Older Sulcatas may remain with Shallow Ridge Exotics as long-term sanctuary residents depending on their individual needs.
