Support Our Mission

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit avian and Sulcata tortoise rescue and sanctuary, we provide rehabilitation, specialized care, and a lifelong home for animals that have been abandoned, neglected, or surrendered due to unforeseen circumstances.

As Shallow Ridge Exotics continues to expand, so does the need for safe and dependable housing for the animals entrusted to our care. Our expansion plans include:

• Indoor and outdoor flight areas where rescued birds can safely exercise, socialize, and enjoy fresh air and natural sunlight.
• Winterized shelters for Sulcata tortoises during extreme and/or cold weather conditions.
• Overall infrastructure and reinforced fencing keep the tortoises in a safe and expanded enclosure.
• Electrical services for lighting, heating, and essential equipment for animal care.
• Plumbing and water access for animal consumption, bathing, and general sanitation.
• An emergency backup generator to ensure continuity of animal care during potential power outages.
• Additional storage and workspace for food, supplies, equipment, and rescue operations.

Why This Matters

Every animal that comes through our gates is provided with safety, healthcare, and a second chance at life. In many cases, animals that are surrendered were once family pets who no longer could be cared for; a welcoming home for these animals means the world to these families.

Many of the animals that arrive at Shallow Ridge Exotics need more than a safe place to stay. Some require costly veterinary treatment, rehabilitation, special diets, ideal habitats, or long-term care.
