Jonah's Story
Meet Jonah
Jonah’s journey to Shallow Ridge Exotics began when he was found along a Texas highway. With traffic, heat, and the many dangers a large tortoise can face near a roadway, he was fortunate to be noticed and brought to safety.
A kind gentleman named Bill brought Jonah to SRE so he could be protected and properly cared for. Bill’s grandson hoped he could be named Jonah, and we thought it was the perfect name for him.
Because Jonah was found wandering, there are still many things we do not know about his life before arriving here. We do not know where he came from, how long he had been out, or what circumstances led him to the highway. What we do know is that he is now safe.
At Shallow Ridge Exotics, Jonah is receiving the proper nutrition, secure housing, shelter, observation, and daily care he needs while we continue getting to know him and his personality.
Jonah's story began with uncertainty on the side of a Texas highway, but his next chapter begins with safety, care, and a place to call home.
We are very grateful to Bill and his family for caring enough to help him. Jonah is now part of the Shallow Ridge Exotics family, and we are thankful to be a part of his story.
