Mikey's Story
Meet Mikey
Mikey came to Shallow Ridge Exotics alongside Bells when their previous owner was no longer able to continue caring for them.
After arriving at SRE, Mikey was evaluated and found to have parasites that required treatment. Since then, he has been receiving the care, nutrition, monitoring, and attention needed to help him continue moving forward.
Mikey has his own personality and his own story, and getting to know him has been part of the privilege of welcoming him into the rescue. We believe rescue is about more than simply providing a place to stay. It is about giving each animal stability, patience, proper care, and the opportunity to feel safe again.
His needs will continue to be followed closely as he settles into life at Shallow Ridge Exotics. Whether an animal is with us for a short season or becomes a long-term sanctuary resident, our commitment is the same—to care for them with compassion and to always place their well-being first.
Sponsoring Mikey helps support the things he depends on every day, including proper nutrition, housing, veterinary care, parasite prevention and treatment, enrichment, and habitat improvements.
Thank you for getting to know Mikey and for helping us continue our mission of caring for animals one life at a time.
